Storage & reheating

Into the fridge, then
ten minutes to the table.

These meals arrive chilled and ready. Nothing needs defrosting, and nothing needs finishing. The cooking is already done.

Storing

  • Refrigerate at or below 4°C as soon as it arrives.
  • Shelf life is seven to ten days from delivery. The use-by date on each pack is the one that counts.
  • Keep trays sealed until you're ready to eat. Once opened, eat within 24 hours.
  • You can freeze a tray if you need to, but the texture of gravies changes, so we'd rather you didn't.

Reheating: stovetop

  • Open the tray and empty into a saucepan.
  • Add a splash of water if the gravy has tightened in the fridge.
  • Heat over medium, stirring, for 6–8 minutes until steaming throughout.
  • Best result of the three methods, especially for the dry fries.

Reheating: microwave and oven

  • For microwave: Remove sleeve. Peel back one corner of the film to vent and microwave on high for 3 1/2 minutes or until hot. Stand 1 minute and remove film before serving.
  • For oven: Remove sleeve. Peel back one corner of the film to vent. Place tray in a pre-heated oven and heat until piping hot throughout. Remove film, stir before serving.

Reheating: rice

  • Sprinkle over a tablespoon of water before heating.
  • Microwave covered for 90 seconds to 2 minutes per 250g.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve straight away.
  • Reheat rice once only.

Serving

A 500g tray is a generous single serve on its own, or two smaller serves with rice or chappathi. If you're feeding two people properly, one tray plus a 500g rice pack or chappathi is the usual pairing.
